external cd burner % usb help

Firewire and Firewire 800 are backwards compatible, with the correct cord. As for saying its stupid to have both, lets see you try plugging in a DV-camera when they have a USB 1.1 port and a Firewire 400 port, If you even could import video through USB 1.1, it would be poor quality, choppy...

    Blank CD Brands

I never suggested everyone go and buy a DVD-burner. And as for price, you can get an 8 speed DVD-Burner for $200 - $300.

    Blank CD Brands

TDK 100 pack for $55. Good deal, I've had bad experiences with cheap-o brands like Lazer, like discs not working or even worse, the data peeling off the CD, bad stuff. I don't buy much CD-R's these days, I usually buy DVD-R's or DVD-RW's.

Firewire is not at all dead, in fact, quite a few PCs have FireWire built into the moutherboard. Firewire won't be dead for a while, as Firewire 800 has not even taken over yet, not many devices support Firewire 800 at the moment either, as it is still a new to the market. Devices that use...

Do floppies still have a practical use?

Computers a forever upgrading, new types of RAM every month, faster DVD-burners, faster processors and new 64-bit processors, new wireless ways of communicating, yet we are still using a device that hold 1.4MB of data and can be lost or damages easily?

USB 1.1 = 1.5Mbps OR 12Mbps (Depending what you're using) Firewire = 400Mbps USB 2.0 = 480Mbps Firewire 800 = 800Mbps Get yourself a combo external drive, it would basically be a case that you put an internal drive in, it can be USB 2.0 only, Firewire only, but the best one to get is the...

    toshiba: the ipod killer!

Only one thing that poses a threat to the current iPod's. iPod Mini's. As for Battery Life? I have a 2G 10GB iPod and have no battery problems. Infact, I know a lot of people with 3G iPod's who seem to have less battery power (Mine's about 10 hours, while there's is roughly 6 - 8 hours)...
