I'd say 11.

I did 10 and found that it worked best.

I think the saftey net argument is weak. If you have lost any hope in a subject then you should drop it. Simple. Just be sure to drop the right one, ie. the one that you've already put heaps of effort in and gotten nowhere, as opposed to the one that you haven't really tried in.

'Luck' and 'Bad days' aren't factors for a well-studied student. Concentrate on what you're good at. If you need to have done your HSC paper to realise which is your weakest subject then you've got some problems!

wtf? No way!

For the reasons that:
1. You can't use scaling as an argument (it scales no worse than Music or Art), and scaling is a weak excuse anyway.
2. It's not too hard to do reasonably well.
3. Both Music and Art have major works involved, why not offload one of them?

If anything, Business is the one that I would 100% keep out of those subjects. But I guess that's just me.
