I think this sort of thing is just indicative of a quite deep seated social problem (for lack of a better phrase). I mean, yeah, we had the Port Arthur thing and we have some shoot-outs and stabbings and beatings and so on here and there, but we've got nothing on America, especially in regards to school shootings. you can blame it on a whatever you like (I remember someone trying to convince me once that America had more school shootings than other places simply because there were more people in America? Wtf) but ultimately it comes down to having access to guns. It's just so much easier to get your hands on firearms in America than in a lot of other places. Heck, there's got to be something wrong with a place where you could quite feasibly have guns and ammunition sitting in a drawer in your living room, and this is legal and normal.
