Subs im doing:
- 3 unit maths
- 3 unit english
- Physics
- Buisness
- Music 1
- Information Procesees and Technologies

I have only been going for 2 days, so at the moment its obviously ok.
But should I Very seriously look at doing 12-13 instead? Even If I can handle 14u, do u think that i will go ok in all and not excel in any?

I am prepared to do about 2hrs/5days a week if necessary for this year.

I've been wondering, how does one include 14 units in their timetable? Unless you do your 3u's outside of regular time ..?

u just dont get any frees basically..
i did 13 units in yr 11
1 subject was 1 unit religion
so i got 2 frees a week...and had 3 religion classes
but if u do 14 units u get absolutely NO frees at all...

Isn't music 1 just one unit?

But, that is a lot of work for prelim. I'd advise to at least drop a subject at the end of prelim (obviously) unless you're confident you can do it during the HSC. You'd still have 12U in HSC which is enough

It really depends how organised you are. The advantage (if any) of doing 14 units is that if necessary you can drop a subject in yr 11 without switching subjects. I had enough trouble doing 12 units ... so i don't know how your going to manage 14 units.

Yes; 14u is ridiculous. You will not be able to devote the time each subject needs, and as a result you will suffer and fall behind. 2hrs a day is nothing, I would expect double that for 14 units.

That said, try it until the Year 11 half yearlies, and see how you're results go.

Kulazzi there are 2 music courses
they are jus called music 1 and music 2 lol
i advise that they drop 1 or 2 subjects at the end of prelim and do their best 10 or 12 units...

I play a bit of guitar.
I'm into the theory too but I've already done ameb grades in musicianship/theory, so I dont think id actually benefit from doing m2.

I DID 14 units in year 11, 3u Eng, 3u Maths, Modern His., Drama, Phys, Chem. My school forced me to because tehy didnt think students were capable of doing double extention. I got through it, but by the end I really hated Physics and Ext 1 Maths, so I pretty much stopped working as hard. But I wasn't sure of whether I wanted to follow the science or humanities path, so doing 14 units was great 'cause i picked up 4u english and if i really wanted to completly cut out phys and chem! You can always drop subjects.

Yeah I see that benefit of being able to drop a crapload.
Ie- both extention 1 maths and extention 1 english + a 2u course and still have 10u for the hsc.
