in the actual hsc 3 unit people do the 2 unit paper so they will be part of the rank for the 2 unit results across the state

i used to do 3 unit but then i dropped it (yay:) ) I got 95% in the exam. i didnt think the exam was bad, mainly coz they didnt ask the stuff im crappest at... lol
I asked a teacher today...and they claim that ext 1 students are not ranked against mathematics students, just like ext 2 students are not ranked against ext 1 students. Apparently this is the difference between enlgish & math, since in english an ext 2 student is still ranked against those that only do advanced.

This is the claim of the teacher anyways, whom i would like to think knows best.

Yeah, my teacher said, to get band 6, 115 is optimum. But im stoked, only in year 11: 117/120! top mark, 118/120. Irony is, top 3 places were yr 11 students! hahaa

Top mark at our school was 119/120. I think that is the only mark that girl has lost all year. I saw the time payments question - made me glad I don't do 2u! I detest it :p

That's probably just the way things operate at your school. At ours, the Extension 1 maths students are ranked with the 2 unit students and the Year 11 accelerated group for 2 unit.

Like someone else said, you're up against those people in the HSC, so it's best to get used to it now.

In the actual HSC, 3 unit students (those that dont do 4 unit) are ranked together with students that only do 2 unit in 2 unit maths. Similarly 4 unit and 3 unit students are ranked together in 3 unit maths.

11 10 12 12 12 12 11 12 6 10 = 108

Spewing about Q 1&2, and stuffed up the annuaties and didnt show change in concavity for q10.

It was a pretty fair test...not as hard as previous CSSA I thought...

To guys that think they got pwned in this test...well...I sat 2unit last year and got 60% in trials ...was kind of dissapointed then studied really hard and ended up with 84 HSC mark.

There is hope!:D

I hate to burst someone's bubble...

But all 3unit/2unit people will be scaled/ranked together, because they're doing a common course. It's exactly the same as how it works for Advanced and Extension English. It's on the Board of Studies site, and i've heard it from a lot of teachers.

Yeah, I hear that. We had our Maths (2U) trial today. I'm predicting ~30%. It'll take some serious study to get up to scratch.

And it's a shame, because I get awesome marks everywhere else. :(

I did the NAFT trial. Got 104/120, or 87%. Was fairly content with that mark but there's a lot of room for improvement. I haven't received my 3U mark back yet but I am dreading it.

I scored 109/120 = 91% Yeah I reckon I can improve by the time HSC comes around and score >90 in HSC exam (this exam was relatively easy)
