My school lies too. It keeps saying how smart it is, then a bunch of people get band 4's in their SC, and the principle just ignores that and says how pleasing our results were. Then the school report lists the people who got a UAI of 99+ and theres only like 3. My schools last year was so stupid, only 3 got a UAI over 99.

99.3 was the dux, how pathetic.

I don't know how my school ranked 20th. There must have been a mistake somewhere.

That's pretty low. My school did much better than that. We had 99.65 as our dux and I thought it was pathetic compared to last years!!! Second dux was 99.45.

And my school was like saying how we did this year (even though we relatively did worse than last years.

This list of school rankings is determined by the percentage of HSC papers that get band 6's. So, for example, in James Ruse 1093 HSC exams were taken by their 167 students and 804 were band 6 giving them a percentage of 73.56.

But there are other lists of rankings, like the Daily Telegraph one which counts the percentage of students that got a band 6 in at least one subject. So this may be the reason why your school is not where you think it should be, as maybe it came second or whatever in a different ranking.

The SMH honour roll, however is known to be the better indicator of school performance than others.

Also, my cousin, I think, holds the record for the highest UAI in Malek Fahd's history, or come to think of it, it might be the 2nd highest. His name is Hussein Elachkar. He achieved a UAI of 99.65%. Do you know him?

LOL! Lurnea High School must be a school for retards with the students having like tree branches for arms and tree stumps for legs! HAHA! Thank god I go to a high ranked school. The students at Lurnea High probably all go around sharing boogers and picking out their ear wax! I bet the DUX would be around the region of 40%!!! LOL!

Your first statement is correct. I remember reading the newspaper article about it. I think she got it confused.

I am not sure if Hussein was the top UAI in Malek Fahd's history as it was suggested by beentherdundat at the top UAI was 99.95 in that year. Your cousin probably came 2nd highest.

Com'on, my school's Dux last year got 98.60 (Compared to 99.95 in 2003 and 99.75 in 2004)THAT's pathetic. 99.3 is still acceptable, I suppose.

dude wtf my school (Bossley Park HS) is one of the richest schools in NSW. But our highest was 97% and that was last year. But i can tell this year and next we will surely reach the 200 mark with huge potential and a big inflow of asian background students.

99.3 for most schools would be pretty decent.. however 99.3 for a selective school is kinda low - not that 99.3 is a bad score or anything.

My school's dux last year got 99.85 and I think we got three people over 99 (99.85, 99.55 and 99.3) or something like that.

We were ranked 331st! Bloody St. Joseph's beat us...grrrr.

lol wana hear a joke our dux for 2007 got a 85 uai lol...

i dont think our school ever got a 99+ uai i think the highest so far is 97 lol.. we are ranked 640 lol.. i love my school =)
