Something insane like 97% unemployment rates from Arts graduates that relate to their degree. So you might get a job in a bar but your degree in sociology won't do you shit.

Well actually one of the reasons I knew UNSW was the best place to do Arts & Social Sciences is because their percentage of graduates 'seeking work' and 'average starting salaries' are much better than any other uni. Personally I don't think $51 146 is too bad. Neither is '21%' seeking work as opposed to UWS '55%'. That combined with the fact I'm keen to do postgrad if I enjoy university pretty much causes my feeling of contentment right about nowww.

But yeah. 'Lolsmith' is like the exact reason for my sentence with the 'attack'ing. ;)

PLUS

'The Bachelor of Social Science core program aims to provide students with skills in undertaking social research, particularly in an applied policy setting. These include written communication skills with particular emphasis on reports, submissions, position papers and proposals; the ability to undertake research and data analysis, both quantitative and qualitative; analysis and critical evaluation of research, arguments and policies; and the use of computers in social research and information processing.'
yeah.. doesn't really sound like I'm lined up for a bar job (plus I don't have my RSA so.. haha)

why do people have to defend their degree choices anyway, this is what I was talking about!
*slinks back into obscurity*

Let me guess, did you get that information in the first paragraph from... the Good Universities Guide?

Actually I got it off this hobo who lives downtown.

.......................................yes I did get it from that guide. Although I don't rely on that guide to make my choices or something. Just wanted to say something to Lolsmith's '97%'

That is disturbing yet probably the most positive comment I've experienced thus far.

Oh, it's because people were openly mocking me because I used the GUG and no one else seemed to do it...

Yeah, well I like having some kind of figures to think about....despite my hatred for maths equating to the fire of a thousand suns. Although I didn't use only the GUG for that, but it certainly helps bring some perspective.

Now I think of it, they are probably all arts/social science students like me that prefer to lurk around instead of posting so they can avoid random abuse and ridicule. :p
Yeh when ever one pops up we flame the shit outta them.

I'm surprised you've lasted this long :p

You don't like maths? Awww... ah well. That's personal preference.

Still, I agree - the GUG was a very good tie-breaker when I really couldn't separate UNSW or Sydney from my own research beforehand.

Yes. That would explain why it's always the same people posting on everything and if someone's not doing something that requires an over 90 ATAR its like 'WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK' and shit goes down.

And yeah, actually, I might go back to lurking....good lurking times to be had. *shifty eyes*

Didn't USYD get hacked? I would be feeling pretty edgy if I was enrolled there right about now haha.
