I think you can do 3U maths out of school but you need the permission of your school principal to do so

i know its a dumb question will it go to my atar? can i do distance education and complete prelims 3U (+1st term HSC) over summer? I'm very dedicated to Maths and if the foundation lies on 2U i can soar through 3U if i try

It would but you would need to inform your school and BOSTES if you were to do it all in one year (prelim and HSC)

Distance ed, IDK if they do a HSC in one year thing at all, you will need to contact them on that

I'm pree sure it's a BOSTES requirement that you must complete prelim 3U before going to HSC 3U

I think at least half of it, since people can change courses in yr 11.

@tazmin, ask BOSTES, there are always ways out of it.

so i can dodge doing prelim content and go straight to 3u? i dunno though, what will convince them? marks? dream careers?

You can always do 3 unit at TAFE.

Generally, as said on the site, you can't do a HSC course without satisfactorily finishing the Prelim course, so I'm not sure you can dodge prelim content.

You can also try TAFE. TAFE condenses a lot of content in one term, and it may be helpful for you. However I do not know if it's a viable alternative to the prelim course.

You will still need to learn 3unit prelim at an outside source because it is still tested.

tbh the first 3 years of school didn't help prepare me for anything lol
