also on the atars - i think regardless of where you look people will be sharing them, especially if theyre excited or happy about their result. If you care about them for more than, what, a week? get a lifee pls! they become so obsolete so i think we all need to keep that in mind regardless of our result
Nah, a week is being generous fr it’s relevant for like 2 days. Besides it doesn’t matter bc there’s a billion ways to do wtv u want so 🌚🌚🌚

I need an expert opinion on how I should approach my reflection...I didn't;t have a reflection in the trials and for my assessment I only got a 7/10 for it. I'm not sure about the structure or what I should cover, other than my piece and a prescribed text

lfr just straight up does not make sense for me lol, i just spam context and hope for the best
i had to watch it a second time before it made sense. I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT when we watched it in class, i didnt pay any attention- the usual line of argument people make is that hes trying to bring shakespeare to a modern american audience, removing the religion so it fits an ambitious and secular american society in the hopes they gain an appreciation for shakespeare. He also comes at it from a psychological persepective and values the ambition more. and then ofc theres the line i end up going down, which is all of that is ultimately a disguise for his own ego and ambition to prove himself lol

what was your feedback? I feel like a lot of kids talk too much about the prescribed text in the reflection and not enough on the text that they wrote

I mean a 7/10 is still really good in my eyes! So even if you used the same one, it wouldnt be too drastic.
Be sure to sprinkle in a bit of personal voice…for me i usually follow the (very loose) structure of:

“i wanted to craft a text that /exposes/highlights/explores (xyz). I found that (perscribed text) effectively/skillfully etc did this through the use of (literary technique/structure), so i utilised this same technique in order to acieve this same effect. This can be seen when i (extract from your text)”
Of course thats not a strict or exhaustive guideline, thats just what i think whenever i write reflections. You may also want to mention where you could have improved…although im not sure of weather thats neccessary id have to check marking guidelines, take this with a grain of salt!

So I had forgotten to link my prescribed text in the introduction, and the other comments were on clarity and being specific. I do think I need a completely different structure

for the most part they are negative. i can appreciate him as an actor and appreciate lfr in some aspects but i think ultimately hes a prick trying to affirm his own status as an actor/director. I hate his treatment and dismissal of women in lfr A LOT
pacino really wasnt a feminist and its bugging me!

OH YES AND OF COURSE quote your perscribed text too! Or dont…depending on what the technique is. Like if your perscribed uses, lets say, personal pronouns i believe its ok to just say “I”, or if its split up or arranged in a certain way, it would be hard to exactly quote that without using the entire text. Lol.

Thank you so much for that...what do you recommend in terms of a possible word count (I know it would amount to 500 max, but how much detail should be required for my work compared to the prescribed text )

There isn't exactly any rules per see...but I'd say that, because its a reflection, meaning its personal, markers are expecting that personal refelction/voice to come through. Its how you used your prescribed text, and whatever textual devices they use as a springboard for your own writing. Mod C is all about reflecting and considering the writing process personally, so id say a good chunk- going to say 70-60% - should be on your own text! Just be sure to back everything up with evidence though, while its a personal reflection its still largely critical. Eg, in the personal segments of the reflection be sure to mention how it helped convey whatever idea you wanted to convey with texual evidence from your own text.

How many words you do i reckon, depending on your writing speed, anywhere between 200-500. Though i usually don't think about word count too much when i write because i tend to go over the limit regardless, LOL, so i cant give any practical advice there!

Hope this helped at all :)
