I think that the textbooks are just unnecessary yapHello how do you study for biology( do you even use the textbooks, do you make your own notes and pls give me tips to make notes using the syllabus)
when I did bio, I just made notes from the textbook and condensing all the yap and then after that it would be good to do practice questionsI think that the textbooks are just unnecessary yap
What about the syllabus? How did you know what content to make notes of?when I did bio, I just made notes from the textbook and condensing all the yap and then after that it would be good to do practice questions
just use each syllabus dot point and make sure u cover everything from itWhat about the syllabus? How did you know what content to make notes of?
biology should count as 4 units so i guess it all balances outYeah I do 12 but art is like 1/2 a unit max lol
for me, biology was always really tough because on top of learning all the content (which there is just a staggering amount of) you had to know how to structure responses nearly word for word tooNo its not tbh its only a lot of work whilst learning after that its nothing
i struggled with that too except i didnt get good at all lmao...I often overwrite so much that someone smart who did a minimal amount could probably get the same marks
both are pretty bad and i dont think you'll get very high quality work done if you did that...I wonder if sleeping at 9 but waking up at 2 or 3 is a better alternative to working until 12.......
bruh I literally got 63% in my prelim and that was like 40 something ranked and the head teacher was like if u get a 75% below u should drop to stdI am doing subjects that primarily focus on writing, but recently a teacher rant caught my thinking.
My maths teacher is adamant that I am staying in advanced, because "I did great on the prelim (63%), that's second in the class"
I keep explaining to the teacher that I want to devote the majority of my effort and time into 4U English, History Extension etc, and that I find maths advanced boring and not useful for the degree(s) I want to pursue later down the track:
Either B Security Studies @ MQ, B Politics, Philosophy and Economics @ UNSW, or B Education (Secondary) @ UOW/UNSW/USYD
Is it worth pursuing this conversation about dropping to standard maths with my teacher? Or do I accept defeat, extort myself for a tutor and lock in?
For reference I am currently ranked 7/35 in the cohort after the 1st assessment task.
FYI my school did not get a band 6 in any mathematics course in the 2025 HSCbruh I literally got 63% in my prelim and that was like 40 something ranked and the head teacher was like if u get a 75% below u should drop to std
I still need to get the form, but first I need to talk to my teacher so then the same thing with what happened with dropping bio last term doesn't happen again. Then I need to get it signed and stuff. I'm getting my adv task 1 assessment back tmrw too but even if I pass I'm still dropping cause it's just not worth the painbtw do you know if you are in standard or not?
Yep, no B6's or E4's across the entire mathematics faculty last yearNot even standard? I've only seen people in standard get competitive Atars with really high marks (as it is generally easier (still shares like 30 percent of the course with adv) and way more people do the course). If nobody is getting a band 6 stay in advanced (rank 7 is pretty good) or drop down to standard if you have made up your mind that you will be the first to get a band 6.
HhehehehThis isn’t even much. If u looked at 2024 we chatted way more
Tiger parents huhGuys if u urself has tiger parents or u know people who do can u complete the form or send it to people who have tiger parents
It’s only like 0.2 points betterStay in adv I believe, it has better scaling and your rank will help. As long as you keep your rank high ish the marks do not matter too much.
So do u have tiger parents? If u do pls complete my formTiger parents huh
My parents would just waive this off and scream at me to go and study not be useless
i would probs focus on learning all the content properly in the first 2 weeks or so then just focus on doing questions@ALolly Say you were 6 weeks away from chemistry and physics exams. What would you be prioritising at this point?
