Why are you trying to do engineering with General Maths?

if you are an above (state) average student then it won't be too hard. the median uai is about 66.

yeah the distribution is negatively skewed.

you would think the average is 50. but this is only true if no one drops out after year 10, which is what the uai assumes. but of course, there are quite a number who drop out before that so the average uai score (who actually sits the hsc) is quite a bit higher than 50; 66 was the number we were told. it *might* change from year to year depending how many dropouts there are but that's the gist of it.

On a slightly more technical note, it is not entirely dependent on the number of drop-outs, but also how the drop-outs performed in the SC relative to their continuing fellow students.

Ycantistudy you have to be careful with general maths cause it has pretty much no releveance to engineering, you should be doing at least 2 unit maths and physics would also save you alot of stress i should know i did no physics and general maths and now im going very poorly in my structural engineering course.

Well UWS should offer some basic or fundamental level of maths for students who don't do Maths or Physics and they then can progress to levels of Maths and Physics appropriate for Engineering students.
Will take much more time though.
The maths and physics at uni is at the summit of high school level and beyond.
