hey im doing IPT too! but from what i experienced so far, it doesn't need an acceleration, we finished da core topics in term 4, now only the optional ones to go. But our teacher being silly, teaching the things we have done again and again lol..

i would have just liked to done it accelerated to have 2 units out of the way; especially because last year at our school went well in ipt and im sure i would have got one of the higher marks (96/9th in state; 94)
stupid school said to me and a friend in year 10 "you shouldnt do it, youve already missed out on 5 weeks of the preliminary course, and theres an exam in 2 weeks" little did we know, being naive year 10s that preliminary counts for shit all, and the ipt exams r piss easy anyways! :vcross:

Yes, Trev, I did accelerate in Extension 2 Maths with marks of 93 (X2) and 96 (X1).

I also know two other students who accelerated in Extension 2 Maths. One achieved the same marks as me, the other received 97 (X2) and 100 (X1).

I'm assuming he/she was in the top 10 for Ext 1 then...

Btw. Are you repeating either of Ext 1 and Ext 2? - I got 48/50 accelerating Ext 1, but the guys at my school (apart from FinalFantasy) scoff when I even suggest repeating it... + coz of the rounding I'm not sure whether my 48/50 equates to 95, 96 ot 97 although I think the latter is unlikely.

Even if I had accelerated 4u I assume it would have been similarly shit to my 2u result and woulda done it again anyway.

But even if you have to do it again, you'd know all the course content. You'd basically just need a bit of skill refining...plus, why not give it a shot? You might get 95+
