hey, sorry for my naivety, but what the hell is actuaries...i know its gotta do with maths...but if u do that degree what do u do and where do u work in?

Da Monster's just confused as usual. You see, he'll be workin' 50 years after he graduates, because UNSW actuaries aren't up to the standard of MQ actuaries who only work a handful of years before realisin' they have enough to retire. :p

all the top students are also doing physics too for some reason...

I not so sure that many people are doin' Actuarial. And also, many top students aren't doin' Physics. :p

correction: everyone wants to do actuarial studies, not everyone can get into it. only the cream of the hsc ...

Well for the last 3 years the Dux at my school has been doing physics.

Prolly this year too

Also UOW has suddenly gotten a huge influx of physics students....


And heaps top people are considering acturial studies

in UNSW it is only ~95 isn't it.... that isn't exactly the cream

You can't say the same for Mq though...... damn 99+

u got it wrong htere .... at unsw, its ~95 for comerce in general. no one has any idea as to how many of them major in actuarial, and what the lowest for actl is ....

yeah, I thought as much, it seemed strange it would be so different to Mq

Some of my friends who are expecting ~97 are considering Actrial Studies at UNSW since they can't get into Mq

i still dont know why there is a 70+% mortality rate in the course
it just puts people off doesnt it?
