how is this weird? doing trial extension 1 paper is so fucking boring lol. besides, the skills i develop after finishing the 2025 advanced test will be valuable in not making simple mistakes as wellur so weird
u peaked in high schoolhow is this weird? doing trial extension 1 paper is so fucking boring lol
Bro its in the news???Yeah all my standard friends said it was super hard
I did see this in the Telegraph
Former NESA exam writer and Head of Mathematics at top girls’ school Ascham Janet Hunter confirmed that each paper featured higher-order questions more typical of the next level up, with some candidates “in tears” after the tests.
“Usually Standard questions are couched in practical situations rather than using calculus vocabulary,” she said.
“Advanced ... was on the hard side and long overall.
“Questions like 25, 27 and 28 were more like Extension 1 or 2 in style where they really had to think and interpret and connect parts.”
wait until you look at Victoria's standard 2 equivalent, General maths. They already do stuff like the series we do in advanced + even matricies, plus general maths is probably harder than math advanced (scales like shit due to poor quality cohort tho)Yeah all my standard friends said it was super hard

i thought this one was kind of obvious ngl, since f'(1) and f'(1.1) are both positive, it means its increasing. since its a slight change from 1 to 1.1, 6.0 should be included. idk im just always geekedView attachment 49804
Can they void this question? Both sets of solutions posted here have put the two conflicting answers.
NESA wouldn't put a purposefully incorrect answer (would they?) that being inclusive of 6.0, but using the intended rectangle solution overestimate it can't be A.
It does say "best estimate", but I don't think that grants an obviously incorrect solution by virtue of the question's setup.
I don't know if it was to make the answers look the same, that being the lower bound inclusive, upper bound non-inclusive, but still wouldn't really justify this.
yeah in post#334 is clean paperi think tywebb uploaded a clean version asw
Yeah I think they usually do stuff on english and mathsBro its in the news???
Damn glad I'm not in Victoria thenwait until you look at Victoria's standard 2 equivalent, General maths. They already do stuff like the series we do in advanced + even matricies, plus general maths is probably harder than math advanced (scales like shit due to poor quality cohort tho)
This is the same problem faced by International Baccalaureate, they fixed this by giving completely different exams for different zonesa facebook site was asked by nesa to take down papers:
”I have been asked to remove all copies of papers and posts that significantly reference the papers from here by NESA due to students in other time zones yet to sit the papers”
bit late now isn’t it? it’s all over tiktok, youtube, other facebook sites, discord servers - and that’s only the ones i know about
also this is fucking unfair, it may be marginal, but these people are fucking able to get an unfair advantage, negatively impacting alignment/scaling.a facebook site was asked by nesa to take down papers:

even newspaper websites are reproducing questions from today’s papers, eg., https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/e...s/news-story/9175594f3a144b394e39188760fc6533
so what do nesa want to do, shut down the whole internet?
someone needs to tell nesa the universe is bigger than them, just in case they haven’t noticed
Nah I'm not saying NESA is right for doing this, I'm saying NESA should've just held the exams for them at the same time or at least 2 hours in to the 3 hour examyeah but why pick on one facebook site. doesn’t seem fair or even practical.
if they start going after others too it’s going to be a whack-a-mole game they will ultimately lose anyway
