Angle of depression is the angle looking down, angle of elevation is the angle looking up if that makes sense.

Yeh but does the angle of depression go inside the perimeters of the triangle like the elevation or on the outside?

Yes, the angle of depression is outside the right angled triangle, but using the rule of alternate angles in parallel lines (horizontals), the angle of depression is the same as the angle inside the triangle at the other end of the line of sight.

If that makes sense.
