Scaling is carried out afresh each and every year. The scaling in 2017 had zero impact on the scaling in 2018. Scaling is only dependent on the strength of the cohort, not the difficulty of the exam. If a subject scaled better, it meant that students in that subject had higher marks on average than another set of students in another course. Vice versa if a subject scaled poorly.whats with this year, it's like the scaling is all random
