why do you think that com lib is more suited to "artsy" commerce majors?

Because of its general nature and also the type of jobs people get from it (check out grad career stats).
24cp in arts vs 12 in science. They're almost encouraging you to do a few more units and get that arts major.
If anyone wants an accounting/finance major I would more reccomend B Commerce. If you want Govt, Marketing, Management, IBUS, perhaps economics major Com (Lib) seems more appropriate

i want to major in accounting and finance, and also a science major. By choosing non govt related units would i get enough study into sci units for a sci major?
