i am all about words. if you can do any of these things: be witty, talkative, outgoing, eloquent, playfully insulting, write letters, poems, write songs, appreciate song lyrics, ANY of these things and truly share it with me, I am yours.

I was going to list quite a few attributes, but I couldn't be bothered. But for me, the biggest heart melter is a flair with words, in any aspect.

yes, but would you not also agree that flattering words are so inconstant, conceited, superfluously-exaggerated, such words so easily conjured as to remove all real meaning from them?

words, in my respectful submission, can be easily labelled as shallow, false and superficial as looks. perhaps i need not go further than citing Shakespeare:

Basically what everyone has said sounds a-okay to me (omitting a few....)
Most important to me is sweetness, HUMOUR, intellect, cute face.
And must be willing to commit.
Made the mistake of being with someone for 3 months until sunday who confessed he never wanted to commit since the beginning. Ouch, baby. Ouch...

A guy has to be able to hold an intellectual conversation (if I ever felt the need to), loyal, generally nice, with nice eyes and a killer smile (I swear Ive said this before hmm) and of course has to be able to make me laugh.. Which I might add isnt hard

i wuld have to say that the best characteristic in a guy that i can think of is:
someone who genuinely wants to spend time with me, and i wanna spend time with him, looks matter a bit yeah but totally drop dead gorgeous guys are tools neways.. i think the thing that attracts me to a guy is> music, say if im at a gig or something, > he has a certain look that says 'hey come talk to me' and finally wen u do walk over there to make convo he isnt a prik... a 'relationship' is just a friendship with perks.. if u cant tell ur bf everything then why are u with him?
if he makes u laugh thats cool..but how many other chix is he make laugh?

you're totally right when you say it varies from person to person, so i guess i cant even speak for all when i say that too much is bad - but i dont know..
say they make a joke aye - it's funny, sure, but after a while it just gets bitter, and when you hint to 'em that it's an "off" joke - they really should get it and SHUTUP about it..
i dont know - like i cant think of anything in particular atm, but .. when it happens - that really sux!
a sense of humour is appreciated - but i stand by my comment when i said that too much can be a turn off and ruin a potential relationship..
