Best Graphics Card <= $150 (1 Viewer)

Try out the FX5200 or the cards of GeForce or Radeon at around the $100 mark if u dont need a high performer

stay the hell away from the fx5200. worst $150 spent, ever (bought it about a year ago).

Yeah I did, he is after a low performance card, most ppl here are talking about the higher end. Then there are you and nekkid talking about random shite of who is in avatars.

Oh btw whats wrong with the FX5200, i have had it since January 2004 & aint had problems

I have a FX5200 as well. I have no problem with the FX. It is a pretty good budget card. I just think that instead of dropping 50-60 bucks on a very low end card, he may as well pay an extra 50 bucks to buy a far more powerful card which will last him alot longer. He did say <$150 .

I wouldn't talk Sasha out of buying something like a FX5200 / R9100 / R9200 though, especially if he got it for $40 or less. I just don't want him to regret it a year down the track.

Yeah, but as he did say he is mainly a strat gamer and they have low hardware demand, but if I remember correctly AOE3 will need 128mb vid card, and the FX5200 satisfies this.

AOE3 looks downright gorgeous. Though the 5200 will run it, I'm not sure to whether it will run it well. This will be the case if the game uses DX9 functions, which the card can run but is too slow to use in most situations.

Many MX440 based cards satisfies the 128mb requirement, but I doubt it would run a game like that.

Yeah, but if u have enough RAM it shouldnt be a problem should it, I have 1024MB DDR-400

maybe its just my card, but for games like far cry, doom 3 and FPS, i could barely get above 20-25fps. im just saying, paying an extra $20-30 to get something better would be worth it.

boys boys boys. lots been said about what i want and dont want, but ok . yeh actually AOE3 was my main reason for wanting an upgrade. and thanks korn for suggesting yuor card, but i still want the best i can get for 150 , for some reason the lower the price then 150 for a card i feel it will be infirior and i would rather pay for abit more for that bit better card.

i am using ebay as a price guide , becuase other shops can charge much more and make some of the cards u guys suggest higher then 150.

from what i was reading up on. the top cards get around 100+ frame rate. so 25-35 is much less.

Korn and Sasha: Gamers tend to aim for 60fps or higher. It depends on the individual though. Framerates aren't so important in strategy games. They are more of a focus in action orientated games.

i believe they are screen shots. becuase in some u can see little health bars on top of the units and similar to aok , when a unit is behind a building u can see an outline of them, that is also visible in those screen shots
