What are the best games to play over a network - ie multiplayer cos i'm in need from some; excluding shoot-em-ups

warcraft is a favourite amongst multiplayers...

I'm currently playing Civ4 multiplayer but be prepared to let a couple of hours fly by.

Warcraft III - Frozen Throne and Starcraft: Brood War (oldbie but goodie) are very good games for network play. Command and Conquer Generals - Zero Hour isn't too shabby either. All of them are real time strategy titles that involve building an army and killing your opponent's army (Starcraft is set in the future, Warcraft in the past, and Generals right now in the real world). I have to say that allied Warcraft III is my favourite network game at the moment. Heroes, NPC creeps, items, spells, lots of goodness.
