hi i was curious if in either the preliminary or hsc biology course, how much of do you learn on the human body. i ask this because i want to pursue a career in the sporting industry, and if biology is just about plants and animals i don't think i will do it. (unless anyone thinks that t would still be relevant)

thankssss

Yeah.. you'd definitely need PDH. I don't think you'd need biology, prelim or hsc, for the sporting industry. For HSC biology, you study
~ Maintaining Balance - basic stuff about maintaing internal balance, the kidney and alot of plants and animals stuff
~ Blueprint of life - genetics, cloning, DNA, etc
~ Search for Better Health - everything about diseases..

so yeah.. PDH is a must but I highly doubt you'd need biology.

yes i have already chosen PDHPE, but was looking at the assumed knowledge for some courses at uni, and alot of them say that you would require biology. i just dont see how though, looking through the syllabus it looks to me that has got alot to do wit plants and animals and not much on the human body

Actually PDH is not even a "must" or "recommended".

For sport science, chemistry is like an assumed knowledge. PD/H/PE is basically meaningless.

how bout bio
No, actually Biology is not even that important even in Medicine. As long as you do two sciences, you are sweet (considering that you completed Chemistry as one of the two).

Chemistry is the most important science when it comes to "assumed knowledge" and all that.

As far as I am aware, there is no single course suggesting Biology as an only assumed knowledge.

For sport science = chemistry but PE and biology help.
