How many books do you guys read? do you think it helps with writing effectively?

Personally, I have only read one book at home and that was: empire of silver by Conn Iggulden. Pretty good book I must say.

So what do you guys think? should I read more to improve my writing? ??

You should aim to read a book a week. That's a good point to be at. And yes, you should definitely read more. One book is not enough.

Regular novels, 300ish pages.

I read a lot of plays, which are usually only around 80 pages.

I read Time magazine, newspapers, plays and academia essays but thats about it.

never read a book for leisure in the last 5 years. i've only read my given novels for english at school.
i just read newspapers daily though
