how is it?
haha no way
its way more mechanical and detailed - as in theres way more formula's and concepts involved in my opinion anyway...like all the stuff u learn in HSC is theory and how things happen - in Uni, especially in 2nd yr, u actually model these things, and use statistics and mathematics to show how the typical economic issues u learn in the HSC are affected thru government policy and stuff

What's the definition of waste?

A bus load of economists going over a precipice with 2 seats empty

How many economists does it take to change a light bulb?
None the invisible hand does it

Sydney Uni has 2 majors Political Economy and Government an International Relations, which sound pretty good.. i was wondering if ne other Unis have any similar courses?

i know UTS has social inquiry, and UNSW have social science courses but they arent linked with economics and business like at Sydney.. and my goal of combined law at sydney seems pretty out of reach with the mega 99.6+ cut off

hey MINAI,

at UNSW you don't have to do two majors in a BCOMM right?

at other places you have to do either 2 majors or 1 major and 2 submajors.

lol

well, for a B Commerce @ UNSW, u can either do:
- A single major in something and a minor in something else
or
- A double major

Macquarie is great... in terms of Commerce (comparative to it's other departments) - especially for Accounting (and Actuarial :D).

will it be hard to transfer from something like BCOMM at Macquarie to Bus Law after a year?

like people say it is easy, IS IT?

It's easy... if it's an internal transfer provided you do half-well. :) But it's MQ... the other's aren't so lenient...

[I could transfer from Actuarial/Maths to Actuarial/Law if I wanted to at the end of year (but I'm not).]

depends on ur UAI as well
since UAC chooses based on 50% UAI, 50% 1st yr tertiary results
so even if u get straight HD's in 1st yr, if ur UAI is too low, u might not make it

At MQ, it's alot easier, methink anyway. There internal system is very dodgy in my opinion. :D

in mac its very easy to transfer, they dont look at your UAI but just your first year results and you need a credit average AT MOST. For most courses even if you get a few passes they still let you transfer.
