It depends what type of band-6's you achieve ... boardline band-6's are a far cry for high band-6's. But possibly 99 ...

Seems to me that most things are possible. I did subjects that scaled badly, but still managed to get 99+

I did:
2u Advanced English
2u Maths (didn't count)
2u Business
2u Geography
1u History Extension
2u Modern
2u PDHPE

In the end, you just have to do well with what you have, and go from there

As per request (AGB), my marks of the subjects that counted were:

English (Advanced) 92
Business 92 (only 1 unit counted though)
Geography 95
History Extension 47/50
Modern 95
PDHPE 91

Hope this helps

i just wanna thank all those ppl that go outta their way to help with these stupid hsc delimmas... but no mater how much i read responses and q&a's i just still don't understand it..
basically my question is.. i rekon with my combo of subjects u can easily get 90+ cause4/6 scale highly...
however. all those ppl kini mini, minai and everyone (i know there are alot of you..adn i don't know all names and ican't be bothered scrolling looking for em... u knwo who you are..giv urself a pat on the back!! :D )
anywyas according to this years stats are you guys rekoning that uai's will be scaled up more this year or scaled down..
a band 6 in all my subject will giv me 99.75 (according to uaiseeker)
after the scaling.. what the likely hood of this mark going up..or down?

ok thats what in my head...after reading it..i don't get it..good uck in figuring it out..heh
anywyas thanx for any help... good luck guys

uai's don't get scaled, its a rank. a gap of .05 in the uai means approximately 20 students for the last couple of years, it all depends on how many students are doing the hsc. your subject marks are scaled according to performance of the rest of the state, by comparing their marks across all subjects.

the best way to figure out your uai is try to predict how well you go against the other students in the state. ;)

U can never tell whether individual subjects will have greater or worse scaling in future years, simply because the extent a subject is scaled is determined solely on how well the students do in that subject and in their other subjects that year. But going on recent years, the scaling trends are unlikely to vary too dramatically.

However, dont assume the HSC marks u estimate and hence put thru the UAISeeker/Lazseeker will give u an exact UAI for 2003, because there still are little changes with scaling etc and canditure performance...ie, The HSC marks I got would have given me a UAI of 96.4 in 2001, but I got 95.25 in 2002

hey,
if uai's a rank

why do 16% of HSC ppl get ova 90+
and 31% gte 80+

i think its cuz it includes year 10 skool leavers who form the 30 and below section
