Origin clash hardly dents Chaser's tally

THE might of 34 rugby league players in Wednesday night's State of Origin clash may have helped Channel Nine steamroll the ratings of the other commercial networks, but it hardly dented the numbers for the five weedy boys from The Chaser's War on Everything.
The ABC darlings, who were the fourth most-watched program around the nation last week and the most watched program in Sydney, pulled 1.28 million against the Origin game, the No.1 program of the night with almost 2 million viewers nationwide. For The Chaser it was a loss of only 200,000 viewers on the previous week. The comedy show was the most-watched program in the non-rugby league cities of Melbourne and Perth. It followed on from strong ratings from its stablemate, Spicks and Specks, with 1.2 million in the 8.30pm slot.
Aunty's performance was helped by Channels Ten and Seven laying down their guns. Seven swapped the popular Heroes for the film Finding Neverland in Sydney and Brisbane, where it rated just 249,000 viewers.

Maybe because the people who watch Chaser aren't RL bogans?

So you wouldn't expect it to make a difference :D

The War On Everything has just degenerated into a series of stupid stunts. CNNNN and The Chaser Decides were both smarter and funnier (except for the segment What Have We Learned From Current Affairs Programs This Week?).

I watched the State Of Origin, and recorded The Chasers.

But every other week, when SOO isn't on, I'll always watch the Chasers.

I've got Foxtel IQ, so it was easy to just press "record". Also, some people say that the podcast misses out on some parts of the episode.

I'm amazed at how well the chasers WoE is doing, especially because the show can be legally downloaded before it even finishes on TV!
