From first hand experience drunkness is not at all an excuse for cheating. If you can manage to cheat then you can manage to say no.

Would you be angry if your girlfriend cheated on you?

Cheating is a choice.

Its always easier to say yes again, after you've done it once.

Well, i kiss girls when i'm drunk.
Maybe there's some subconscious yearning lurking behind this, but i don't believe that i am emotionally cheating just because i'm a bit lecherous when drunk.

And while i'm not saying it's right, i think that drugs (and many other things!) can mess with your judgement and they can partially account for your actions.

Yet you cheat repeatedly without a care in the world.

Yes, but like Whiterabbit said, drugs and alcohol can affect your actions.

Never cheated.

If I wanted someone else, I would break up with my boyfriend first. I would never cheat.
Yeah me too.
I'd hate to be cheated on, and if I loved and cared about someone I wouldn't do anything intentionally to hurt them.
I have never cheated and wouldn't cheat on someone.

Alcohol doesnt make your a dickhead, it just makes you an even bigger one..same with drugs, it doesnt make you a slut, just reduces your inhibitions so you feel no guilt

I don't get it.
By your reckoning, in sober life i'm a dickhead and slut, but alcohol makes me a bigger dickhead and/or a bigger slut.

You don't think that it justifies for the 'bigger' bit?
Or is it a seasonal thing which every x number of days i become a bigger dickhead/slut?

Explain yourself.

Exactly.
Being drunk is not an excuse.
No matter how much I have to drink I still have a fair idea of what's happening around me and can still manage to say "no" if I have to.

Sheesh, talk about bigotry.

Because obviously everyone has the same reaction to you when they drink copious amounts of alcohol and mix it with backyard shit.

I'm not saying that everyone has the same reaction as me.That's just from my experience.
IMO someone using the excuse that they were drunk and that's why they cheated is not a good excuse or reason.

I can't think of one.Because I don't think there is a good excuse or reason.
I really don't think I would be able to continue a relationship with someone who cheated on me, I wouldn't be able to fully trust them again.

It's fair for you to say that you don't think that you would accept a relationship if your partner cheated on you - it's your relationship, after all.

But judging from your posts, i seriously doubt that you understand how complex relationships can get.
Every time cheating or swinging is brought up in BOS, i always get into arguments with people who can't accept any view but their own.

There are so many reasons why people cheat, and while they might not seem like 'good' reasons in your book, it doesn't mean that no-one in the world considers them reasonable.

If you don't consider intoxication an excuse, good for you, but its fucked up to be going around saying "it's not an excuse" as if everyone's as narrow-minded as you are.

i think theres never an excuse for cheating, as in, it's never the right thing to do... but that doesn't mean there aren't explanations for it... in the end, in my opinion, it is wrong but maybe it could be forgiveable, like if the person was fully sorry and you decided to give them another chance... but ive never been cheated on so i dont know what it would feel like so obviously i dont REALLY know what im talking about :)

alcohol is an excuse. i mean its ure fault if you cheat under the influence of alcohol. however, you don't always know what you're doing when drunk. agree that it's much better to cheat drunk than sober.
