it doesnt really matter which one you choose. i picked chem1031 which went into deep chemistry details that are somewhat irrelevant to further chem eng subjects. chem eng mainly focuses on the physics side of thermodynamics and what not with a basic knowledge in chem

I would pick CHEM1011 if I were you, it scales well and is a subject that is recommended for chemeng.

hmm not sure now.

Apparently CHEM1011 is a repeat of yr12 so I don't think they're any point in doing that though.

In any case, most first year units are repeats of Year 11/12 content. I'd recommend doing it

not really there are some overlaps but there is heaps of new shit like quantum chemistry

Yep. I did HSC Chem but found CHEM1011 quite difficult.

Which one has more organic chem?

In the hsc, I really enjoyed production of materials and chemical monitoring and management. I didn't really like acids too much, and shipwrecks was okay.
