Well I don't mean to state the obvious, but many people are not going to be aware of this form.

It is not exactly what I would call publicised, let alone advertised. Only if a person was searching for such a thing (without acutally knowing it), would probably come across it.

This form needs to be posted at better relevant sites, e.g. SENG site at UNSW, other sites that have COMP1711 in them, etc.

This way, it will make it easily accessible to the masses, as many will not scour the bored forums, and it even being under the thread "COMP1711/MATH1081 Clash" is not going to help either, as most will not progress through to the last few pages of comments.

Also, what will happen to the many (and there will be many) people that do not sign this form and hand it in?

I guess so since the whole point of the form i believe is so that you dont complain if you fail (not too sure though). Makes you aware of the difficulty and gets you to sign it. :)

U dont have to fill it if you meet the courses requirements though.

"Assumed Knowledge: There is no specific assumed knowledge. We suggest this course be taken by those with HSC Maths 2 and 3 units: (145-150), or 3& 4 unit Maths (186-200), or UAI > 97"

They kind of changed the wording now:
Assumed Knowledge: There is no specific assumed knowledge. We suggest this course be taken by those with HSC Maths 2 and 3 units: (145-150), or 3& 4 unit Maths (186-200), or UAI > 97
Note/s: Enrolment requires School approval which is grantedautomatically on submitting this form.
When i emailed Richard (the higher comp lecturer) asking if i can enroll in this course about 1-2 weeks ago, he said:
If you want to do higher and don't meet
the suggested maths level all you need to do is print out and
sign the form you can find on the 1711 homepage called
"transferring INTO 1711" or somthing similar and hand it in
in the CSE school office in the K17 building.
:)

edit: sunny beat me to it. :p

Yes it means the classes that are not showing are full. You can see them anyway by selecting Yes for "Show Closed Classes" when you search.
