Im writing notes at the moment, and I'm not sure if they can ask questions from the skill points of the syllabus, like the bromine water prac, modelling, specific biopolymer etc

Of course. Everything listed in the syllabus can be assessed, so be prepared for it.

In addition, they tend to show up as big markers. For example, there was a 7 mark question a few years back asking about a comparison between two batteries.
