Hi there.

Just wondering if credit points are a standard unit of measurement.

I'm asking as the course I'm doing now is requires 72 credit points and the same course at another Uni is 144 points?

Does this mean they twice as much work is being done in the same time frame (3 years) or does 1 credit point at my Uni = 2 @ the other one?

=S

Thanks in advance =D

Are you at Macquarie? Most unis I know of have 6 credit points as the standard for 1 subject, but I've heard some others use only 3 credits.

Credit points are generally not a standard unit of measurement, at my uni most first year units are 3 points, but other uni's are 6, and some are up to 25. I'd dare say they all contain the same amount of effort.

This.

You'll still get the same degree at the end of it =] That's what employers will look at, not how many credit points you did hehe.
