lol. that's why my comp is running win98 and no peripherals except mouse, keyboard and printer. It's more stable than most windows systems...

I just did the CSSA 2003. Worst test ever. okay mabye not ever..

But the first question: An observer on earth observed an Alien spacecraft fly by.
The observer photographed it and made measurements, finding the length to be 24m and the height to be 10m. NASA tracked it and found it travelled at 0.8c .

Right thats all nice, and then the question is :

Calculate the length of the spacecraft as measured by the observer.

You could take that as either
1) the length measured by the observer
or
2) the length measured by the alien

for 2 marks, it's quite obviously number 2, but what kind of stupid wording is that ? what is the length "AS" measured by the observer? frikkin stupid.

haaah? tell me about it... I just spend 5 minutes figuring out whether I should agree with you or disagree with you. That's some nasty wording :/

I think it's safe to say that the HSC won't have anything like that.

in the Q observer = the human life form
but.. the length measured by this human being is already given...

I must agree this is a BAD question :p

I wouldn't bother with CSSA papers. I did it for the trials and the questions were just wacked.

Wording for questions was horrible and the solutions given wasn't all that good either.

Do past papers - much better.

although its probably better to do other papers
(as if there arent enough of them already), I'd like to see any CSSA paper.. from whichever year... coz Ive never seen one in my life.

answers to HSC 2001-2002 papers are on http://www.boredofstudies.org/mirror/ (click on the two htm files there). the papers are available from the Board's website, http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au

some 2004 trials are in http://www.boredofstudies.org/mirror/2004/

some other papers and resources are.. obviously, on http://www.boredofstudies.org/view.php?course=13

some other sites:
http://intrepix.tripod.com/en/notes/physics.html (Fort Street trial)
http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~kewpid/exams/ (JRAHS 2001-2002)

should be more than enuf :p

but still I want to see any CSSA trial becoz rumour is that its not that good and I want to look at it myself

Tell me about it... I spent an hour on the helpline last night with TWO TEACHERS going through the paper with me, cos the answers my teacher gave me were all fucked up.
