Hello everybody, where can i do B Dentistry in Australia, preferably in NSW, then QLD, then SA...so on? Also, wtf is the difference between B Oral Health and Dentistry? B Oral Health is for the less academically celebrated. ie lower uai?
is entry into B dentistry virtually the same as for medicine, ie uai, umat, interview?

Oral health is like a specialist nurse rule for dentistry with emphasis on dental education and non dentist checkups: "The program qualifies graduates to work as oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental hygienists and in health promotion. The first year of study provides students with foundation knowledge in the health of oral tissues, emphasises the importance of prevention as a goal, and introduces them to clinical practice. In second year, courses develop the knowledge and clinical skills needed for the care of individual patients. Students apply their knowledge of dental diseases to dental therapy and dental hygiene practice. Third year students extend their clinical experience and focus on the provision of care to groups with special needs, and on oral health for communities and population groups. Throughout the program, courses explore the principles and philosophies underlying health promotion for individuals and the community.
The BOralH program was the first bachelors degree program for dental auxiliary training to be offered in Australia. It has been fully accredited by the Australian Dental Council and has been considered the benchmark for similar tertiary programs in other Australian universities." http://www.uq.edu.au/study/program.html?acad_prog=2017

Their are no undergraduate places in NSW except for CSU which opens next year and is primarily targeted for rural students in NSW that hope to study dentistry, the only undergrad courses that are avaliable next year are JCU(hopefully open next year), CSU, UQ, UWA, UA, Umelb, Latrobe, Griffith. Interview is normally not required and the cut offs are lower with uai and umat compared to med. 98.5 and 165ish umat will probably get you an offer somewhere.

Yeah I thought the same. Does the uai needed for dentistry often depend on the candidature though? Due to the demand for undergrad dentistry and the limited universities at which you can do it, isn't the competition often more than for med?

o rly? i thought most unis needed an interview for dentistry. which ones dont?
I dont know that much about dent.

Griffith requests interview to applicants when necessary, Latrobe, CSU, UQ, Umelb, UA(lower ranked applicants) etc. Off the top of my head.

No, med has more competition and is much harder to get into. The UAI and UMAT cutoff is lower for most dent courses compared to med and yes it depends on the candidature the top ranked umat+uai/ter+the universities criteria make up the annual selection pool.

UWA too

ummm they have less places and less applicants.. so it may add up to the same competition.. some are accepted to both and keep dent.
