hehe yeah that's what I thought, well at least you'll know what is due and when and you can start planning ahead to avoid stress and too heavy a workload...where possible that is!

aw great i start off by getting a stack of assignments lol
It does give you plently of time to plan out assignments, but it also describes how much work you will need to do each semester.

yep natstar basically covered it all for you, but like I said you don't have to worry about it until uni starts, it will be given to you in your first tute or lecture for each subject and will be explained to you in full then.

do the teachers stick to the outline, or is it like school where they are constantly changing dates and everything?

Generally they stick to the outline, but sometimes topics covered may be changed, especially if there are guest speakers. And sometimes assignments dates will change - but they will inform you.

yeah if I remember correctly you need at least 2 weeks notice of an assignment due date? so any changes involving assignments will be discussed with you, usually the unit outline is followed pretty strictly...but don't worry you'll always be informed as to what is happening and have enough time to do what is required of you as far as things like assessments go.

Thanks Natstar! I don't have a problem with knowing and remembering the due date, it just annoys me when teachers do! :p

As mentioned before, the lecturers do stick to the outline. Pretty much all assessments are set out and due dates are stated at the beginning of the semester (most units you will also have access to the questions/activities for the assessments). Changes may only happen where something needs to be changed because of an unexpected change where there usually is a back-up plan. The university has guidelines on how to set assessments, how to seek extension and furthermore what they can ask. Remember these are academic units, hence they require to be structured in a certain way as many need to meet professional requirements.
