hey,

does anybody know how to derive a^(5x) with rescept to x.

i dont have the answer but i seems right. if someone else thinks that it is wrong please post what they think

Here's a method which gets it from scratch so you don't have to remember what d(ax)/dx gives...
Let y = a5x
ln y = ln a5x
ln y = 5x ln a
y = e5x ln a
dy/dx = 5 ln a.e5x ln a
= 5 ln a. a5x

Yeah, it is.

You must know it for HSC...it came out as HSC question like 10 years ago as Q10 and we know for sure that syllabus for maths hardly changed since then.
