How would they know that? You dont get a mark for your final exam...if they passed the course, they had to have passed the final exam.

Basically, u have to pass the final to pass the course, its something to do with "satisfactorily completing the course", according to tutors..Robert should've told you that you had to pass the final to pass the course

what if i got a really good mark (let's say, at least credit) but since my previous assessments are low, therefore in overall weighting, I am not passing. Does that mean I fail??

you MAY be able to get a pass conceded or somethinglike that if your overall mark is high enough

Well, depends how long
as someone said, you can get pass conceeded, but that ur average for your other subjects must be over a certain mark

They may have changed things this year regarding failing the final, however, just to reiterate, you'll never know the actual mark you get for the final exam itself - the marks you get emailed in the middle of july are the final weighted marks for the course.

ps, I dont expect any of you to fail accounting
most of you are law students or whatnot, plus accounting is easy if you do a practice paper or 3

however, my accounting exam (2A) is on the same day as your's, and im screwed =S

Yes. But even if your sick it is up to the department (or possibly the lecturer, I can't quite remeber) to allow you to take the supp. Note, some (very small amount) subjects DON'T have supps.
