A PHOTO that appears to be a period-costumed figure staring out of castle window is leading a web vote on the best ghost image.

Christopher Aitchison took the photo at Tantallon Castle, built in the 14th Century, on the east coast of Scotland in May last year.

He said he was unaware of anyone being in the building and certainly no one who would be wearing what apparently was a 15-Century outfit.

The photo was one of hundreds of supposedly spectral images sent to the science of hauntings website being run by an academic expert on supernatural claims, Professor Richard Wiseman from the University of Hertfordshire.
A few of these made me go LOLWTF, but I don't believe in ghosts so idk. The imagination is an amazing thing... Anybody believe this stuff is fo real?

I know right. I get scared easily, and I'm actually posititve I'm going to be haunted - but I don't believe in ghosts? And I know there is a rational explanation for everything you see that can be considered "supernatural".

Watcing those shows on t.v. where people spend a night in a haunted castle, it's like duuuude.

But idk, I think imagination is amazing and I can see what they're getting at with these photos, but if you stare long enough you can totally see that it's a shadow or a reflection, idk.

People buy into it though

They look exactly like every other ghosting photo I've ever seen. Even pre-digital technology, those images were dead easy to create.

No, not at the moment. But it could be possible if there were multiple universes and each universe runs a different timeline covering a different probable event and pathway for the present outcome. This could explain why some people have stories of ghosts warning them of impending events, because in its universe event X has happened in way Y which lead to outcome Z. For this to be true we would probably have to assume some sort of an existence and conceivability equivalence.

Haha. Funny things go wrong at my work, and strange happenings in general have led me to believe in this supernatural power.

Yes I believe in ghosts, as silly as it sounds.

I tend to believe that there's a reasonable, non-supernatural explanation for ghost sightings.

Doesn't mean that stories/photos don't creep me out.

I remember reading an article in Good Weekend, about this drug. I can't remember what the substance was, but it was something very rare. Some sort of powerful psychadelic.

The strange thing about this drug was that 99% of everyone who ingested it had strikingly similar experiences. They experienced and interacted with beings, who were non-human. They typically recounted there were two things the beings would typically do. They would act violently towards the user (particularly eating them) or they would act strongly sexually, or a combination of the two.

The consistency of the experience (which is an exceedingly unusual thing in a hallucinogen) led to some speculation that there may be a spiritual or supernatural aspect to the experience. i.e. other dimensional business. The drug was perhaps allowing people to perceive things that are constantly existant, but non-observable.

The drug was also remarked on as the drug the highest proportion of users had a strong desire to never try again.

I wish I could recall what it was.

It's exactly as I described it. I searched erowid and it's not there. I'll post it on bluelight and see if anyone knows.

Mabye it was a hoax, but it was in the Good Weekend, and it wasn't funny or particularly outrageous.
