Don't worry. The final examinations are ages away, so you have plenty of time.

hi, so do u reckon that we should start studying once we know we are accepted into our course??
The effort u put into reading up early is a waste of time... especially for me in law. I know most people here are very studious, but really...I'm sure you have better things to do with your time!

Work? It's easy! It's a matter of not procrastinating too much.

It's alot of study if you do everything, but if you selectively study (ie. subjects which you have to) and neglect the rest, it should be alright. It's almost impossible to do all the readings, or most can't be bothered. I mean, if you look at some textbook sizes, you're more inclined to fall asleep.

hehe yes..as flyin' said - do 'selective' study

it helps in subjects where they actually tell u wat's going to be in the final exam so u can go off and cram those topics..

yeah, i mostly knew what i had to study and what i didnt. Plus, most lecturers use the same exams over if they can, so looking at past papers helps, sometimes they work in a 3 year cycle sort of thing.
Dont stress so much, uni is not that bad, and it is hard, but not immensley hard. you've always got the 3 month holiday in your sights!

sometimes they trick you too. dont take hinting to heart. try and cover everything briefly, rather than learning what was hinted in absolute detail. after all, you are not at uni to get high marks like in high school, you are there to learn as much as possible coz you will use it for the rest of your life

one of my lecturers went to the trouble of typing a sheet out that hinted what topic areas were covered in each question of the final exam (there were 100 multiple choice questions), so i wrote out 100 summaries and just crammed like crazy..and it worked :)

You think thats good...our sociology lecturer in first semester gave us the exact, word for word exam questions 3 weeks before the exam so we could pre-prepare our answers!
And even then I only got a stoopid credit. :(
