Just wondering how much you guys paid for the driving instructor's car in the P's test, and the driving lesson right before it?

My instructor is charging $110 all up... is that a normal price?

He also said I'll need to bring $40 or so for the actual license or something like that. I already paid $41 online I thought just to book the test..

... man things are expensive.

Well since I had a lesson before and then the test I had to pay for 2 lessons (2 hours) even though the test was only 30mins but add in time for processing and taking me home etc. Then I had to pay for licensing fees on top of that.

$45 + $45 + $40 = $130

Lesson = $45 per hour
RTA fees = $40

From memory if you were right on the RTA fees for licensing then that was how much I paid all up, good luck. :)

omg what a waste of money, do you really need an instructor + car?

Instead of getting an instructor, I thought about it.. if they're going to charge me around $120.. I might as well fail and try again.. That is, IF I fail.. which I didnt.. So everything just costed me $80 since I didnt get instructed or anything..

And my P's test is 17th so.. no I don't have them yet. (and yes I drive in Malaysia)

The thing is, the instructor's car is 100x nicer than my own car to drive... and I know how to park it really well.

Oh great.. so when you get your Ps you'll drive and park really gay because it's your own car and you can't handle it properly..

Ordering does not mean you get it instantly.

Anyways, if you got the money to spend, why not..

$110 sounds decent, I think my friend did it for $120

yeah 110 is a good price

i did it for a bit cheaper[ was more like 110 including booking fee and the 40$ for license, she might have not had to pay booking fee cause she knew people, so maybe that why it was cheap]

but thats because my mum drove me there. and instructor only gave me 1/2 hour before hand, did test then she left as soon as i got back lol, nah jokes, she wanted to see if i passed. then i drove home in mums car

Haha cool thanks guys.

Btw, I already paid $40 online for the test... do I need to pay another $40 for the license itself if I pass?!

Actually for the licence (the actual card) it's exactly $40 =]

So yes, that's what I meant by do you really need lessons + car..

Cos at the RTA itself it's $80.. then for your instructor it'll be $110.. and that is if you pass.. if you don't pass, you'll have to pay $150 AGAIN..

That's why I said I'd rather fail.. then book again ahahhahaha

Well.. this is where economics comes in

If a consumer agrees to pay $24k for a new car that they really want, it's like a win-win situation.. Consumer likes, producer likes

However, he dislikes the $100 because he feels he's overpaying for something that ought to be $80 max..

Yeah something like that.. I really don't understand my lectures =.=

Man don't talk to me about business, I'm only 4 lectures into my course =.= and I failed Business Studies

So you got your Ps now?

Geez, why don't you get the bottom model? Leeching them totally huh? X] jkz

I like the Hatch more.. but that's purely because I hate big doors.. makes parking in tight spaces a bitch since the length of the door always seems to hit something when you try to get out

I think DaddyK meant that he was prepared to pay $200 for a license, if indeed it were to cost that much.

Nope :( My stupid Dad thought I was getting P's this Friday (ie. tomorrow) when he told me last night "We'll buy your car on saturday"... so now gotta wait. And he isn't letting me put body kit on it because "it'll make people wanna steal it"... >__>

As for the hatch... that's like family car. I'm still getting the Coupe CDX (it's about $30.5 all up) but one dealer is throwing in free servicing (but need to get this in writing) and free unlimited car wash...

All this is banking on passing next Friday's P's though.

Btw I think I mistook equity for equality... *shrugs*
