correct the SILVER coins were 185. You had to add the 20 gold with 185 to get 205 (total coins
But, if their was 185 silver coins and 20 gold coins that would mean that their was a 20/205 chance of selecting the gold coin which makes the probability of selecting a gold coin 4/41, where the probability of selecting a gold from the previous answer was 4/37. So, their must have been 185 coins in total because 20/185 = 4/37.

Can someone clarify the energy question. Was it 505 x 5 x 0.35 + 990?

Good explanation. If people are curious there are 165 silver coins, and 20 gold coins most likely.

Concerning the question where they asked you to verify that the correlation coefficient to three decimal places: was this in the parameters of the syllabus? My teacher taught us that it wasn't in the scope of syllabus for us to work it out - they said that questions would always have to give you the correlation coefficient. Regardless, I learnt how to do it, and so I got the answer, but I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else?

Asking to verify the calculation sounds well within the scope of the syllabus. I'm pretty sure I got taught how to do verify it too.

For M = A(1.1)^ , the growth rate is 10% right?
Yes. Because the equation is M = A(1.1)^x, which is just this M = A(1+10%)^x. So, the growth rate is 10%.

The volume is 58.9 for the marshmallow one.

V=π*r^2*h
=π*2.5^2*3
=58.9cm^3
This is the answer for part I. From memory the answer from part II was around 190, I think that is what they are referring to.

Oh right I couldn't be bothered to solve the second part, 190cm^3 sounded a tad large to me when I looked at part 1!
