You should be able to do 2000 words pretty standard in an economics essay, and in the HSC exam, you should be able to fill at least one and a half booklets on one case only. Maybe you should include more information in relation to your cases, such as concepts and ideas, or maybe relate to some secondary sourced material such as newspapers or internet articles. However, don't rely on them in your essay.

Our case study had a minimum of 2500 words.

Mine turned out 3200~

Most did around 4000 words easily and around 3 or 4 students got around the 5000 range. Obviously they got 100%, not because they wrote a lot- it's because they are the NERDS DAMMIT

Why would an assessment have a minimum word count?

Maybe so one person doesnt write 1000 and another 5000?
And they panic and try to kill each other?

well realistically 1000 words should be enough. The whole point of this assessment is to give you the motivation to actually go out there and study a case study. It is usually a much better alternative than wasting class time on doing a case study collectively.

1000 words should be sufficient because you will study more information about the case study than you will need for the final exam.
