Sounds like a lot of jealousy. And yes the people who worked the hardest deserve the best. This isn't a socialist society. Things are earned.

the girls are a bit up themselves but they're essentially saying how ridiculously easy it is to get away with rote learning in the hsc/true intelligence isn't necessarily reflected in the hsc

which is true

They're being who they are. Let's be happy at the fact that they don't plan to be dole bludgers. On the other hand they have a certain condescending tone about them that obviously plays with out mind since we obviously don't go to a selective school or such. I bet if we went to one, we would probably agree and laugh with them. Just turn a blind eye and rape HSC.

I attend (or rather, used to attend) aforementioned school. Remember these views aren't necessarily shared by the rest of the student body, and making sweeping generalisations about selective school elitism is unproductive and damaging, not to mention rather hypocritical. I'm not defending what my friend wrote, but do keep in mind that many of these people (as well as students in other selective schools) really have worked hard to get scholarships and whatnot. (Full disclosure: I'm not one of the people pursuing a co-op or cadetship)

We do have a sense of humility and generally aren't prone to attacking people who ultimately do better than us in exams, even if they are from a comprehensive/private school (note that the person who made those comments never used the words comprehensive OR private in her comments). I only ask that you show the selective school population at large the same courtesy, and not antagonise the whole lot of us over the views of a small minority.

That being said, good luck with the rest of your HSC exams... all of you! :)

Hahaha this person is a psycho insecure person. If it really was an easy test, the b6 cut off will just be higher.

Better go off and join my comprehensive school plebs now.
This pretty much - I dont see why the people quoted by the OP have a problem, if the test was easy then aligning standards will increase.

cos one person is totally representative of 30 selective schools in the state
This as well, the people quoted might be elitist or whatever, but that isnt representitive of everyone.

Seriously, who cares about what they say - if they try to annoy you, tell them to fuck off. Beating them is the best way to go about it - if they were actually good, they shouldn't have a problem beating people, no matter how easy/hard the test was.

Because they want to know the person they are giving the scholarship to.
If you think this facebook post will hurt their chances you're wrong. All that matters in the real world are results.
