People who tell you to do biomed have a vested interest and/or are unaware that the IT industry is picking up (and necessarily has to considering the direction of the human race).
Do what you want. Take BE/BSc with comp engineering and maths. It's a great course. You MAY end up changing to comp eng/phys or electrical eng/comp sci or such, but that can't be helped.
There's no RIGHT degree for anybody. Though a few degrees come close. And trust me when I say you want to be doing one of those degrees, not something you technically have the ability to do, but have no interest in.
