a bit lost, so you don;t even need to analyse eta style if the question doesn't say refer directly to the extract? but otherwise u can just incorporate it into other paragraphs thematically?

heres an example of the distinction, 2012 hsc vs 2020 hsc

yep basically! but in the example above, for 2012 that wouldn't have been a viable option. But i doubt they'll force a poem that way.. heh...

That's my strategy as well. Mine is Preludes+Hollow+Magi and if a 2020 style come up for Prufrock and Rhasopdy I probably can only analyse what is given + context so welp. If it's 2012 then I am cooked, but my teach said we're not expected to know all 5 apparently so I highly doubt we'd get a 2012-style ones.

I can deal with a Prufrock stimulus since Prufrock is somewhat similar to Preludes and Hollow structurally, but a bad Rhapsody one would be the end of me

Yes. IIRC she said we are not supposed to know all 5 by heart, and recommends us to just roll with something along the lines of "3 by heart and other two a bit here and there"
However I am from quite a low-ranking school, so take it with a pint of salt. And she said it before the trials so it's in like July hence my memory is fuzzy.

yep, the current syllabus has been up since 2019 and finishes for the class of 2026

i feel a lot better now, cause we spend 2 lessons on rhapsody and my teacher said that we should still learn it in case it comes up

We spent like 2 weeks on it lmao. She did say that also, but again not by heart. If you're that concerned you can just have 3 quotes + a form then combine it with the stimulus but that should be enough. I think. Not a band 6 student so lmao
