You telling me there are people that like it....if it was up to me, it would be banned...waste of time...We spend all this time learning garbage that will never be used in life....We read Emma....man who cares, i dont wanna read this garbage! Worst Subject!

english is full of shit - you can write utter rubbish and teachers intepret you as brilliant.

Relatively straight-forward and can be interesting-although a few parts of the English advanced syllabus encourage reverse-racism and ad hominem.

I'm sick of all this literature and analysing texts shit. No wonder there are so many students who know bugger all grammar and spelling... and get a nasty shock when they try and learn another language but don't know what adverbs/pronouns/semantics are.

Oh, I agree. It certainly isn't the English that used to be taught in schools; that was proper English. However, for what it is - and I don't think we'll be getting the real thing back any time soon - it is good enough.
