I went through the search function and was very surprised to see no thread dedicated to one of the greatest if not the best guitarists of all time. anyway if started this so that fans can discuss the genuis of this man.etc..

No way. I think he expressed himself well with the guitar and all, but I wouldnt call him the best.

He was at his best when he was with Cream IMO. White Room is amazing.

TRIVIA: Savoy Truffle by the Beatles was written by Lennon about how Eric Clapton would eat whole boxes of other peoples chocolate when they smoked weed together,

Its true though. Eric Clapton was also the guy who introduced Lennon to heroin.

I dont think they realised how bad a heroin addiction is. Plus I think John Lennon would have gone there anyway since hed taken other opiates before.

This guy is amazing. He's my favourite. I've got heaps of his CDs, DVDs (Live in Hyde Park is AMAZING especially in 5.1).
My favourite song would have to be the unplugged version of Layla (love playing it on guitar) but I love his old rock stuff too and his blues stuff is great.
But while I worshipped him a year ago now my musical taste is broadening, but I still think he is one of the greatest.

Yeh, I love his 'Unplugged' stuff I used to listen to it most days. I've also seen him on the 'Concert for George' and 'The Last Waltz'.
