Question 11 - someone in my class said that the arrow is rotating the wrong way, and my teacher agrees. He's made a formal complaint through the presiding officer to the Board.

Now I really can't be bothered thinking about motors and generators right now, but would anyone else like to comment?

Was that the AC induction motor question?

If so, wasn't the point just to say that it rotates in the same direction as a rotating magnetic field, so the same direction as the magnet, like in an induction motor

Now that I look at it, it does look to be in the wrong direction
Although it has almost no impact on the question

Yeah, it has no impact on the question, but someone did use it as a reference in a short answer question when he forgot which way motors rotated... it's still wrong though :p

And it was a DC motor question.

Most kids would've just been like: "Yep, AC induction motor therefore same direction"

Hahaha!!! It's wrong!!! I have always said the battery symbol is an elusive one. [Seriously, I am not kidding]. Just the other day, one of my friends was like "But how can you do that!? We don't know the direction of the current!" and was like "Look at the battery symbol" :p

Hahaha, gotta love the board making silly errors! :D

My bad too, wasn't reading the right question

(probably better to do that now than in the actual exam)
