does the selective high school like Sydney boys and Sydney Tech offer ESL course to its student who is eligible to do ESL in HSC?? is it compulsory to do advanced ENG in HSC in those school? just wonder...

For Syd Tech, I think the lowest they offer is Standard... Not too sure...

at our school, they do not offer standard or esl. you are forced to do advanced. this is the same for maths; we don't offer general. same goes for ruse. i'm not sure about other schools though. i do know that hornsby girls does offer general maths, so i imagine it would depend on the school.

It is possible to get 99.95 ATAR with ANY subject combination.

Hurlstone offers Standard and General Maths but not ESL I believe.

does selective school offer a placement to ESL student if he is good at science and maths but not in ENG?? for example, distinction in science comp, chem comp, maths challege and AIMO... what do they really look at?? ur report and academic competition?

All depends on how well you do in the entrance exam and school reports. Such achievements would help but they can't exactly neglect English.

Is it actually true that HAHS only looks at your entrance exam and not your report? Or is it just a rumour?
Because, I have friends with the better reports not making it in (I think I'm the only exception to this though), while the ones with the worse reports make it in.

They look at your report, I'm pretty sure.
