I'd just like to share my experience with being gay in a Catholic high school and they weren't exactly great. Back in year 10, the year coordinator and assistant came up to talk to me after school. They asked me if there was something wrong because apparently I was spotted kissing a girl outside of school. I was so confused because I didn't think that that was a big deal or it was any of their business. Anyway they believed something was wrong so I had no choice but to visit the counsellor. This whole thing really pissed me off but I decided to ignore it. So then a year later a friend of mine (who happens to also be gay) is preparing for his art major work and he wanted to do something to show how homosexuality is treated in society. Because his idea had 'homosexuality' in it, he wasn't allowed to do it. Even his art teacher called it pornography which is really dumb because the only thing it would have is two guys holding hands! It really depressed him because as an art student, he was told to express himself in his art. It wasn't fair because others that had hetero couples in their artwork doing worse things than what he would have done were allowed to do them.
All I wanted to say is that it really sucks because there are some people that make a big deal out of something so little. BTW it's not really that easy to spot someone who's gay (unless your gaydar works) 'cause people never suspected I was.
