A metaphor is where you say something is "something" because the connotations associated with that "something" is what you are trying to express.

Not at all. Even if it is (assumingly) false, it still doesn't hurt to give an answer. And they were answers that mostly led to constructive dialogue. Not everything that isn't 100% true is 'trolling'.
