hi im just wondering in SAM the mark for ext1&2 maths are out of 100, say if i put 90 for both, is this 90 the 90% of the external exam mark (i.e. 84 and 120) or...?

Yea. You put in marks out of 100 for ext 1 and 2 maths. But a mark of 90 does not indicate 90%. This is an aligned mark, so you could get a raw mark of (...) and it may be aligned to 90.

Marks entered in SAM are scaled marks.

Marks entered in are ALIGNED MARKS. Marks that come out of the SAM are SCALED MARKS.

When you enter marks in SAM, you get marks at the end (which are in the decimal form). Only SCALED MARKS are in decimals forms. ALIGNED MARKS are always in whole number.
